Our Story
NaviGates Group was founded in 2019 by Gaëtan Pellerin, executive coach, negotiation consultant, and author of Mindful Negotiation: Becoming More Aware in the Moment, Conquering Your Ego, and Getting Everyone What They Really Want.
After decades of experience in leadership development and negotiation, Gaëtan saw a recurring challenge:
Leaders know how to communicate—but not how to self-regulate.
They have the strategy, but not the state.
This insight led to Conversations by Design™—an ongoing research and coaching project that brings together mindfulness, neuroscience, and organizational psychology to redefine how people prepare for and engage in critical conversations.
Where Mindful Negotiation introduced the power of awareness in high-pressure interactions, Conversations by Design™ expands that practice into every dimension of leadership and team dialogue. It shifts the focus from managing moments of tension to intentionally shaping the everyday conversations that influence trust, performance, and culture.
